Médecins du Monde – Greece have been present in Uganda (Luweero region, Monde village) since 2009, with a project of primary healthcare. Basic aim of this mission is the support of the healthcare facility that is located in Monde. The direct beneficiaries of the project are the residents of the village (above 50% are below 14 years old) and the indirect beneficiaries the population of the region (almost 400.000 persons). Since August 2009, MdM – Greece has upgraded the facility with infrastructural and renovation works and has also undertaken the responsibility to staff the clinic with adequately trained personnel, to equip with essential medical devices and finally to provide all necessary medicines and medical consumables.

Within the framework of this mission, volunteer doctors travel to Uganda at regular intervals and realize specialized medical tests as well as trainings to the personnel of the clinic.
