Médecins du Monde, over a period of 29 years, has played an important role in the provision of primary health care, psychosocial support and housing services, through all its activities. At the same time, in difficult and critical times, they have taken important initiatives in the field of defending human rights, in particular the right of all to health, housing, social protection, education and employment.
Having managed to be recognized both in the Greek society and in the international community as an important social aid organization, Médecins du Monde implements actions aiming at social cohesion and development. In this way, they contribute to the social inclusion of vulnerable groups, such as the poor, the uninsured, the homeless, the elderly, mothers and children, refugees and migrants.
2018 has been another painful year for us, with many difficulties for both Greek society and refugee and migrant groups. Médecins du Monde was called upon to take a major role in the implementation of medical care interventions, as well as emergency interventions to relieve populations, as in the case of the devastating fires in East Attica.
We are therefore faced with the social exclusion experienced by our fellow citizens and we are called upon from the heart to offer our services wherever they need us. Our country has not yet overcome the social, economic and humanitarian crisis and through our projects we contribute effectively to social inclusion, the right to health for all and the promotion of human rights, with transparency and accountability.
