On Tuesday, the first MdM-Greece team departed from Athens for Türkiye – Syria, which is expected to support the intervention staff on the ground to deal with the devastating consequences of the powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the morning of 6 February.
The Greek team of the international humanitarian organization is appealing for financial assistance to cover the multiple needs of the affected people and to support the affected population.
MdM has been working in the region for several years now, actively supporting the local authority to guarantee access to primary health care services in 14 health centers and mobile clinics covering a population of around 900,000 people in north-eastern Syria. In addition, they are providing direct health services in the north-west of the country in 12 health centers, assisting over one million people.
MdM-Greece is also asking their fellow citizens for financial support to cover medical supplies and consumables as well as to cover the provision of services to the affected people.
