This project aims to address the mental health problems of vulnerable populations by giving them access to mental health and social support services and ensuring that they can exercise their basic human rights. More precisely the project objective is to provide the necessary mental health and psychosocial support services, to empower mental health practitioners and to collect data, as well as testimonies in order to highlight the weaknesses of the national mental health system in Greece. At the same time, the project aims at strengthening cooperation with public mental health structures.

The two mental health teams, one in Athens and one in Thessaloniki, will be based at the polyclinics of Doctors of the World and will consist of a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a social worker and interpreters.

This project is supported in part by a grant from the Open Society Foundations.
