Night Shelter

The program «Social Structures confronting poverty in Athens Municipality» is implemented within the framework of the operational program “Human Resources Development”, is funded by the European Social Fund and promotes the development and operation of an expanded network of social structures. Within this network Médecins du Monde – Greece has created the Night Shelter for homeless persons.
The shelter is located in a premise that has been granted by the Municipality of Athens (49, Alikarnasou str., Akadimia Platonos). It is open daily from 21:00 to 12.00 and has the capacity to accommodate up to 50 persons per day.
In addition to the staff of the shelter, the Social Services department of Médecins du Monde – Greece provides social support and counseling services to beneficiaries of the program, in collaboration with a network of public services and other NGOs.
The program is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF).
