Doctors of the World’s third shipment of material started on Tuesday 22 March from Greece, carrying more than 30 tons of humanitarian aid collected in cooperation with the Municipality of Katerini, to meet the needs of those seeking safety away from the fires of war in Ukraine.
The humanitarian aid, which includes medical supplies and long-life food, will be delivered to Help Ukraine and the Lviv region. Meanwhile, the MdM team at the Ukrainian border continues to provide daily first aid and medical care to refugees crossing the border into Romania.
In addition to their action at the Ukrainian border, Médecins du Monde, from the first days of this new refugee crisis, have been operating their Open Polyclinics, housing programs and Mobile Medical Units in Athens, Thessaloniki and Kavala, for the immediate care of people arriving in our country, offering psychosocial and material support (food kits to cover basic needs), while a Help Desk is operating to serve Ukrainian refugees.
