1. Médecins du Monde – Greece launched its humanitarian mission at the border of Siret, Romania on 10.03.2022.
  2. A Mobile Medical Unit has permanently remained in Siret, supported by both medical and administrative personnel and volunteers, including a general practitioner, a gynaecologist and a paediatrician. To date, a total of 60 health volunteers have supported the operation of the Mobile Medical Unit, rotating in teams of four.
  3. Médecins du Monde – Greece provides Primary Healthcare and Protection (including first aid, mental health and psychosocial support) at the Siret border, while also visiting and supporting 7 refugee shelters in Ukraine and Romania. So far, MdM-Greece’s medical field team has supported a total of more than 2,500 patients in transit. These include cases with mild symptoms (colds, flu, fainting, etc.), emergencies (trauma care) and chronic patients who need more complex treatment and medication.
  4. Médecins du Monde – Greece has so far collected around 75 tons of humanitarian material support (mainly medicines and medical supplies) and has already carried out 10 humanitarian missions in Ukraine, accompanying the delivery of items.
  5. The largest material mission took place on 24.03.2022, with the successful delivery of 30 tons of humanitarian aid by Médecins du Monde – Greece to internally displaced people in Ukraine, in coordination the Chernivtsi Regional Council, HELP UKRAINE ROMANIA and the Municipality of Drohobych, Lviv Oblast.
  6. On Monday 18.07.2022 and 21.07.2022, the 9th  and 10th humanitarian aid missions respectively was successfully carried out by MdM-Greece, with the delivery of medical equipment, medical consumables and medicines to 5 hospitals in the regions of Chernivtsi and Lviv.
  7. Médecins du Monde – Greece, in cooperation with the Directorate General for Development and Humanitarian Aid of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, supported the south-eastern region of Odessa by transporting loads of humanitarian aid (PPE, medicines and medical supplies) in early April.
  8. MdM-Greece has been closely cooperating with local authorities in Lviv and Chernivtsi, as well as local partners in the scope of providing hospitals and health centres in Ukraine, with essential material aid.
  9. In June, MdM-Greece launched a new activity within Chernivtsi Oblast, for the support of the local health system in Khotyn Municipality, and is currently assessing engagement in the Odessa Oblast.
  10. In cooperation with Americares, in June and July, special pharmaceutical items and medical consumables were effectively delivered to 3 large health structures: the Bukovinian Clinical Oncology Center, the Chernivtsi Regional Perinatal Center and the Khotyn Central District Hospital.
  11. More than 2,300 internationally displaced persons in Greece have received support and health services in Athens and Thessaloniki (including housing, social counselling, psychological support, liaison with the NHS and the Public Administration, and distribution of basic necessities and food aid).
  12. So far, 14,300 people have been directly benefited from the intervention activities of Médecins du Monde – Greece, while the indirect beneficiaries are estimated at around 400,000.
