On Saturday 15 June, we are waiting for you at Syntagma, at the Athens Pride 2024 Pride Festival, to celebrate together the joy of diversity, against fear, discrimination and exclusion
Because “one law is not enough” to establish equality and eliminate discrimination.
Because no one should be excluded simply because they are different.
Because all should equally enjoy the fundamental human right to love.
Because love is health. And our vision is the elimination of stigma and a world with universal unrestricted access to health.
.
MdM supports the human right to diversity and participates once again this year in the Athens Pride 2024 Pride Festival, by standing behind the main slogan of the event “One law is not enough“.
Joining our voice with LGBTQ+ people, MdM is calling for full social inclusion and visibility of all the demands of the LGBTQ+ community, comprehensive and inclusive sexuality education in schools, health awareness training so that LGBTQ+ people can fearlessly seek critical medical care, and to eliminate the stigma that accompanies people living with HIV by preventing them from accessing needed health services.
Therefore, on Saturday 15 June 2024, at the open booth of Medecins du Monde, at Syntagma Square, the following will take place:
- information on the ways of HIV transmission and prevention,
- highlighting risky behaviours that expose people to the virus,
- raising awareness to eliminate the stigma of those who are infected,
- encouraging preventive screening.
RAPID TESTING
At the same time, between 17.00 and 20.00, free rapid testing for HIV, viral hepatitis and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) will be carried out, an action that is part of the 4C program (Crossing Countries, Crossing Communities), which is funded by the EU4Health 2021-2027 program of the European Commission.
On Saturday 15 June 2024, from 11.00 am, Médecins du Monde is waiting for you all at Syntagma to celebrate together the joy of diversity and the right to self-determination, against fear, prejudice, discrimination and exclusion.
