In this report, Doctors of the World (MdM) presents its observations for 2013 on the social health determinants and health status of patients who have received support from 25 of our 160 European programs providing access to healthcare.

Those who are most vulnerable are becoming even more vulnerable, not only in terms of access to health care services, but also with regard to other determinants of health, including the degree of social exclusion, education, housing and general living conditions, quality of diet, vulnerability to violence
Global recession, wars and geopolitical developments have massively increased an already underlying migration wave, thus turning Greece into a major entry point for thousands of economic immigrants.
In total we run over 180 health programs in Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Two years ago, a devastating earthquake ravaged Portau-Prince, Haiti’s capital, and surrounding areas. We all remember the images relayed by the media and social networks around the world.
In times of such great social and economic crisis, as we are experiencing today in our country, the most vulnerable social groups, the most poor and marginalized are at the risk of absolute exclusion into the most extreme poverty conditions.
It combines the results of two complementary surveys. The first is a statistical survey focusing on adult undocumented migrants and the second, based on interviews, focuses on the situation of their children.
